4000 years of consumption. That is some history! Curcumin has it. (Chiropractic delights
in its 125-year history!) Curcumin’s history of dietary use in Eastern
countries like China and India gives much fodder
to researchers to investigate just what an influence
it has on disease. And there is a difference! Curcumin‘s
anti-inflammatory ability is finding credit
for positive effect on neurological diseases, cell death, and
pain. Pensacola Spinal Rehab Center remains interested in curcumin’s beneficial role in potential inflammation
and Pensacola back pain reduction.
CURCUMIN HISTORY
Curcumin has a long
history of usage over 4000 years (1) yet a shorter
history of use currently for its ability to modulate
levels of a variety of brain neurotransmitters along with stopping
cell death. Curcumin affects inflammatory cytokines, growth factors,
and enzymes. (2) Back in 2010 researchers suggested
that curcumin may well be a “future drug of therapy for the
treatment of various neurological disorders.” Diabetic neuropathy, tardive
dyskinesia, and major depression are a few of those such orders.
They requested further clinical
studies back then to place curcumin into therapeutic use due
to its “neuroprotective action” in diseases like Alzheimer’s, tardive dyskinesia,
major depression, epilepsy, and other such neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric
disorders. Curcumin’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties may contribute
to its neuroprotectiveness. Curcumin’s ability to slow or halt
reactive astrocyte expression and thus preventing cell death is advantageous.
(3) Your Pensacola chiropractor understands the role of
cell death in degenerative spinal conditions like disc disease and values
the potential curcumin has in addressing
cell death and decreasing inflammation and thereby reducing
Pensacola back pain.
CURCUMIN DIET AND SUPPLEMENTATION
What is the best way to incorporate
curcumin for maximal benefit? Diet and/or supplementation. A
curcumin rich diet is reported to offset diseases
like cancer and diabetes as well as reduce inflammation. A new
paper on curcumin reveals the role of curcumin in treating neurological diseases (spinal muscular
atrophy, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple
sclerosis and more). In an effort to effect
more attention to curcumin’s benefits, the authors present
the cellular and molecular mechanisms and clinical trial outcomes of using curcumin in healthy people and people with such diseases. (1) Pensacola Spinal Rehab Center
realizes many Pensacola chiropractic patients will go the supplementation
route as it’s simple and effective. Pensacola Spinal Rehab Center will share
what is right for you and your Pensacola chiropractic
treatment plan.
