Pensacola Spinal Rehab Center reveals these NEW back pain guidelines
and recommendations:
Spinal Manipulation as a First Option
The American College of Physicians recommends
non-drug and non-invasive treatment of acute, subacute and chronic low back
pain.
Spinal manipulation is particularly named as one
option.
(1) Any stage of Pensacola back pain or Pensacolaneck
pain is welcomed at Pensacola Spinal Rehab Center. Our Pensacola

Acute Pain: Spinal Manipulation
Acute low back pain - pain that lasts up to 6 weeks in
duration - responds to
spinal manipulation according to a new article in the
Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) that reviewed published
randomized clinical trials. This review finds
that spinal manipulation delivers modest improvement in
pain and function with no serious adverse effects.
(2)
JAMA also printed an editorial by the well-known
medical doctor and author, Richard Deyo, MD, about spinal manipulation for back
pain incorporating Paige’s study. The editorial clarifies
that spinal manipulation treatment for acute
low back pain is appropriate.
Its use is in line with the American College of Physicians review and
subsequent guideline. Spinal manipulation provides modest
improvement in pain and function in the short-term compared
with sham manipulation, usual care and other treatments. And of note, Deyo emphasizes that, of the trials reviewed by Paige et al and
the American College of Physicians, none suggested that spinal manipulation care
was less effective than conventional medical care (drugs, rest, etc.). SMT
proved equal to or exceeded conventional care.
